1. Study a Master degree in Global Production Engineering and Management (GPE) at VGU and you will
-
Be trained to assume leading positions as technology managers, functioning successfully in international value-added chains in the field of production
-
Gain the hand on experience with the qualifications that are directly taken from the job descriptions of technology managers in the global business environment;
-
Gain the real knowledge of the technical competencies in engineering disciplines, development of manufacturing processes and tools, modeling and simulation, quality control and economic evaluation
-
Be able to:
-
Understand, assess and apply engineering knowledge to solve complex engineering problems; design components, systems, and processes meeting multi-desired needs and sustainable development in the field
-
Recognize and assess interrelationships between the economy, the technology, the environment, and the society with leadership and management skills
-
Not only work but also research independently and responsibly in multidisciplinary-intercultural projects with an ability to pursue lifelong learning in innovation and technological developments
-
2. Global Production Engineering and Management Labs:
-
Product design and development (courses: Engineering Design, Product Development, Additive Manufacturing): to practice engineering design process from the first phase conceptual design to last phase prototype making and evaluation. Various software (like NX, Tecnomatix, Teamcenter) and machines are used for design, making prototypes, and testing (Builder 3D printer, Stratasys Mojo Desktop, Stratasys Dimension SS 1200 ES).
-
Production technology: master in transferring study knowledge to real practice with popular as well as modern machines, introduce and guide students to manage different production process technologies and help them keep pace with advances in technology.
-
Manufacturing planning and management (courses: Work and Time Studies, Quality Management, Learning Factory Exercise, Manufacturing and Factory Planning Case Studies, Technology and Innovation Management, Project Management, Information Systems Management). Students are trained to become a good technical/production manager. Students practice knowledge and real-world problems by carrying out project work (in quality control, factory layout design, factory scheduling, and manufacturing management) with GPEM lab metrology machines and devices, smart workstation and learning factory.
-
Automation Technology and Robotics: develop a thorough understanding of modern sensors and controllers, industry-standard controller (such as PLC) hardware and software to enable students to use them effectively. Labs will emphasize on numerous industry examples and projects to automate production processes.
-
GPE Projects: Students do projects collaborated between GPEM and industrial partners. Students use the machines at the GPEM lab and do live-interactions with the industry partners to understand the real needs of employers, solve hot current topics in the industrial environment, update the latest trends and enrich the soft skills. The outcomes from student projects can be commercialized to bring benefit to students and businesses.
